What is a wh-question?
Definition
A wh-question is a question that contains an interrogative pro-form.
Also known as: Content question, question word question, information question

Here are some examples of words that begin wh-questions in English. Most of them begin with wh-: who ; what ; when ; where ; why ; how
Warming up by discussing
T: Good morning, everyone! We’re going to have our English class. You have many subjects everyday. Subject is the lesson you learn everyday, such as English, math, Chinese and so on. Maybe you think some of them are interesting and so you are good at them. But some are not. Right?
S: Yes…
T: Now let’s see how many subjects we have everyday.
S: Math, English, Chinese, art, music, biology, P.E.…
T: And we have science. Science includes chemistry, physics and biology and so on.
